Tenerife shipping and international communications
Communications from Tenerife with the whole of its area of influence, and the transport opportunities with Africa, Western Europe, the USA and Central and Latin America have been inproved in recent years.
This process, which is still underway, is making the island a top quality logistics point for the delivery of all types of merchandise and services to a large number of countries.
By maritime transport: there are regular shipping routes that join the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife with Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal, Gambia, Ghana and Nigeria. Other regular routes go to the big ports of other parts of Africa and ports of the USA, Latin America and Central Europe.
By air route: there are numerous flights (regular and charter) from the two airports of Tenerife to the European Union. Different airlines, such as the renovated Binter Canarias, that already carries out charter flights to (Madeira), be also studying the opening of new routes with West Africa countries.
A growing trend has been noted in recent years for Spanish and international companies to choose Tenerife as the commercial port for the exporting of their goods and services to the African continent.
