Growing Foreign Investments in Tenerife, Canary Islands
In the recent years, Tenerife has recorded a growing number of foreign investments, in line with the whole of the Canary Islands. This trend has been accelerating since the full integration of Spain into the European Union. According to available figures, foreign investment in the Canary Islands in the period between 1998 and 2003 was 3,864 million Euros.
The authorities and the main socio economic agents of Tenerife that support the input of foreign investments give greatest priority to investment proposals in the following sectors: new technologies, the information society, telecommunications, biomedicine, renewable energies, pharmacy, the optical industry, fashion, jewellery and all those that generate a significant added value.
