a business in, following fifty economic parameters, according to a study
drawn up by the leading Spanish economic information magazine, Actualidad
Económica. Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the top island capital
of the whole of the national territory recommended by Actualidad Económica
for investing in and establishing businesses.
The study analyses fifty factors to take into consideration when deciding to locate a business. On the one hand, qualitative data such as the GDP, population, smooth running of the authorities, subsidies and leisure services are analysed. On the other hand, the analysis looks at qualitatitive data such as "per capita income", inflation, fiscal pressure, land prices or competitiveness in the labor market are considered among others.
The sixth Spanish city for businesses
Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the top island capital of the whole of the national

the sixty Spanish provincial capitals analyzed, coming logically after Madrid
and Barcelona, but being a very short distance from cities such as Valencia,
Bilbao or Seville, cities which have a much greater population. Moreover,
the study reveals that -in spite of the difficulties stemming from its island
and geographical position, the Gross Domestic Product of Tenerife is among
the top ten Spanish cities.
With respect to the existence of infrastructures for business creation, such as the number of meters used for offices and the use of industrial land for the development of business for tertiary use, Santa Cruz de Tenerife is similarly placed seventh of the 59 cities analysed, above cities such as Palma de Mallorca, Alicante and Castellón.
